An impressive Directorial Debut

When Tanya planned on directing some of her own material, she certainly didn't plan on her first creation being a TV Commercial to represent the City of Perth's Winter Arts Festival 2014!

It was a huge honour being asked by Producer Damien Blythe to come up with a concept and  then write, choreograph, teach, direct and perform in the dance-based commercial within just two weeks!

Despite it being a challenging task Tanya worked with a fantastic crew, including Director of Photography Michael McDermott from Transvision, to pull off a detailed and original piece of work. The commercial screened on prime time television station, Channel 7, across Western Australia throughout June and July, returning lots of positive feedback.

The opportunity to create something of her own was an exhilirating whirlwind and she would do it all over again!

Big Gold Mountain at PICA

Earlier this year Tanya was requested as an actor to participate in script development for an intended stage play, Big Gold Mountain, to utilise her Chinese background and understanding of being mixed.

Last month she was again called upon to be a part of the cast and perform the revised script at PICA for the Chinese Ambassador of Australia, who flew in from Canberra to watch it. Other stakeholders from the Chinese community also came to view the performance reading.

The performance was deemed a success and there was plenty of positive feedback to all performers. Credit to the writer, Russell Roberts, for presenting a beautiful and important piece of Australia’s history from the Chinese point of view. Director John Atkins from Stages W.A. was also fantastic and it was a privilege for Tanya to be a part of something wonderful during its early stages.

Big Gold Mountain will be developed further and hopes to tour through all major Australian cities and possibly overseas as well. Stay tuned!

Veux Magazine, Toronto - June Issue, City & Sea

The gritty city shoot Me, Myself & the Night, was published in the June issue of Veux Magazine in Toronto, Canada.

The six-page spread is attributed to the collaborative efforts by Noskire Media, which saw Director/Photographer Erikson Nygaard deliver a fierce but sensual side of the city, combined with styling by Vanessa Tarca plus make-up and hair by Phoebe Domondon.

A successful photoshoot none-the-less, achieving international readership.

ELLE Magazine Taiwan - June Bridal Edition

Earlier this year Tanya was asked to shoot a beautiful Mexican themed bridal shoot, named 'Mexican Fries' by photographer Jason Tey, which was based on a real life couple who came together.

Although Tanya was selected based on her model look, her acting ability was a bonus to bring the love to life.

After being published on the world's number one wedding blog, Style Me Pretty , the editor of ELLE magazine in Taiwan saw the shoot and decided to publish it in their June edition.

It was a great experience which resulted in positive international exposure and reach! Tanya's Eurasian look proves to be diverse and appealing to international audiences.
