W A L L P A P E R

Technically, nothing happened. Right?

Synopsis: Dionne lets a friend crash on her couch after a night of drinking. She later wakes to find him standing over her in bed.

W A L L P A P E R is a film about women having to constantly face their own mortality and the trauma men can cause, even unintentionally. Dionne is an independent young woman, living alone and regularly offers her couch up for friends to sleep on, whenever they need. Shawn, a goofy and fun-loving friend of Dionne’s, has taken her up on this offer more than once. During one of these occasions, Dionne later wakes to Shawn looming over her, incoherently intoxicated. Once her sanctuary and safe space, Dionne’s room is instantly transformed into a holding cell where she is stuck in harm’s way.

The film pivots around this brief encounter – a terrifying betrayal by a trusted friend, who will possibly have no recollection of the fear he has instilled. After he leaves, Dionne retreats back into her room, where her once friendly offering is now forever branded as a mistake.
