After one hundred and one auditions, you’ve booked a job!! YAY! Now what?

This 3hour workshop will go through step-by-step, what to expect after you book the work.

As actors, we don’t get to learn about set and the process of filmmaking beforehand. We are dumped in the deep end, in the dark, typically last minute, into a mysterious bustling playground called set, where we then do our job. This is not the most comforting recipe to offer our best performance.

The goal of this workshop is help actors feel more at ease when approaching the unknown and to also provide the tools and knowledge that would help us be of better service to the crew and to the production.

Agenda:

  • The flow of events after booking

  • How to read a callsheet

  • Arriving to set

  • Film departments

    • An overview

    • A breakdown of key roles by industry professionals

    • Tips to stay ahead

  • Set etiquette - including industry feedback

  • Q&A

Basically, things I wish someone had told me early on!

We will touch on some differences between commercial, student, independent and union sets. However, the primary focus will be on union projects.

You don’t need to know everything about filmmaking, but as a key role in the film’s making – the more we know, the better we can participate and the more value we can add to each project.

If there is anything about set or booking a job that you would like more clarification or information on in this session, don’t hesitate to send your questions via tanya@tanyajade.com with ‘Bridge the Gap’ in the subject line.

Doors open 5.30pm and close at 6pm sharp. Be on time, as latecomers will not be admitted :)
